
D. SCOTT CALDWELL, MBA
FOUNDER AND PRINCIPAL
D. Scott Caldwell is the Founder and Principal of Caldwell Business Group, LLC. Passionate about working with the organizations who are serving within their respective communities, Scott has excelled in the work he does for clients. He is an expert at engaging with individuals, teams and organization who have a vision of where they want to go and connecting them to the resources necessary to get them there. Some examples of the successes led by Mr. Caldwell and his team at CBG include: Developing new cultures and perspectives through strategic planning and training; Increasing annual campaign contributions by over 200% for a client in a very rural area of the Texas Panhandle; developing systems and organizational frameworks for a newly developed organization in order to position them for long-term growth and sustainability.

Throughout his career he has acquired many valuable competencies in project development and management; grant writing and administration; goal development and strategic planning; budget establishment and administration; interim management facilitation (in a 3rd part consulting capacity); personnel recruiting and retention; human resource management; policy making; leadership development; public speaking; and, stakeholder/group facilitation.
Scott was born in Iraan, TX and raised in Ft. Stockton, TX. Mr. Caldwell went to college in Lubbock, TX at Texas Tech University. While there he played football for the Texas Tech Red Raiders and earned a BBA in Management. He also completed graduate school course work at West Texas A&M University where he earned an MBA in Management.
Mr. Caldwell has held past positions as the Human Resource and Business Office Director for MMM PHAC and Local Government Services Coordinator for the Panhandle Regional Planning Commission.

TAYLOR J.HAYS
JUNIOR CONSULTANT
Taylor is a communications professional with over five years of experience in the Amarillo area. He has a wide-ranging background with previous positions held in the Business, Political and Non-Profit sectors. Born and raised in Amarillo, he has a deep connection to the Texas Panhandle and firsthand knowledge of the community.
Taylor earned a BA in Mass Communication with a Minor in English from Texas State University.

JANET CARL
WRITER AND PROJECT CONTRIBUTOR
Janet Carl has been serving in community based, community action and public service capacities for the past 34 years. Her tenure has allowed her to consult and provide training to governmental, educational, human services, professional organizations on the topics of outcome-based evaluation, strategic planning, team building, and leadership development; Provided grant and other technical writing services; Authored, and co-authored, many various technical and professional publications; Held leaderships positions on boards for Meliora Partners, Iowa Policy Project and Iowa Ethics and Campaign Finance Disclosure Commission; and, Currently serves on the board for the National ROMA Train the Trainer Program as an Advisory Board Member.
Ms. Carl has held positions as a Co-Chair for the Iowa House of Representatives Joint Human Services Appropriations Subcommittee; Executive Director for Iowa Court Appointed Special Advocate Program; and, Director of Development, Convener-Community Academy on Children and Families at Risk, Director-Family Futures Project, Senior Associate-Move the Mountain Leadership Center, and Resource Development Director for Mid-Iowa Community Action.
She is currently working as an Organizational Development Consultant and is the Director of Academic Support for Writing and Speaking at Grinnell College.

OWEN HEISERMAN
DATA SPECIALIST AND PROJECT CONTRIBUTOR
Since 1987, Mr. Heiserman has been working with community-based organizations providing an array of services. Throughout his career he has developed management tools for strategic thinking, planning, accountability and performance assessment; Developed and presented workshops at state, regional and national community action network conferences; Coordinated client programs and program data collection and reporting; Managed multi-year state and federal demonstration projects; Provided training, technical assistance and organizational intervention to state Community Services Block Grant (CSBG) offices and community action agencies throughout the United States; and, Became certified as a national Results Oriented Management and Accountability (ROMA) trainer in 2002.
Owen has held positions as Research and Planning Director, Development Director, Research Specialist for Mid-Iowa Community Action in addition to working with Meliora Partners as a Research Specialist. He has also been self-employed as a Resource Development Consultant is currently performing work as a Freelance Grant Writer.
Mr. Heiserman holds a BA in English from Saint Olaf College and a MA in American Studies from The University of Iowa.
